In modern productions, in addition to the vivid acting of the actors, the proper design of the stage is also of great importance. Classical scenery is becoming a thing of the past, giving way to original art objects, which are an important component of productions.
Such an object was the light composition for the premiere of the play “Ostrovsky #love” by the St. Petersburg theater “Buff”.
It is an installation resembling intertwined threads of a spider's web, covering the main place of action like a dome. The platform itself is also outlined with a light contour, which makes it stand out against the dark background. To implement the idea of the main artist of the theater ideally suited Arlight equipment: flexible round profile WPH FLEX and multicolor RGB-tape, controlled by SPI protocol.
The choice of SPI protocol for lighting control is not accidental - it allows not only to change the hue of the tape, but also to set up various light scenarios, dynamic effects that enhance the experience of the actions taking place on stage.
Another feature that became possible thanks to the flexible profile and SPI-controlled tape was the light inscription repeating the name of the play “Ostrovsky #love”. The inscription is made with the imitation of handwritten font. Light carelessness, liveliness and sincerity of the font was achieved by the ability to bend the profile in space, and SPI-protocol allowed to create the effect of appearance of the text displayed before the eyes of the audience.
